Process for Maize grits
Maize grains are purchased from the market & after inspection & testing are subjected to screening & grading through various machines to remove dust, husk, stones & other impurities. Maize grains needs de-germination. During this process the cleaned Maize grains are moisten with water to loosen the skin on the top layer of grains & then the moist grains are passed through de-husking machine to remove husk & germs from the grains & then the whole mass is passed through various machines to separate husk, germs, powder & grains. During the above process the maize grains are broken into small pieces of different sizes. Thereafter the grains obtained from above process are passed through various graders to separate different sizes of grains from it. The small size of grains thus obtained are called ‘MAIZE GRITS”. Different sizes of maize grits are stored into different bins & packed into plastic bags or Jumbo bags as per buyer’s requirement.
